Voicemail Drop: How It Works and Why It Matters

Overview Voicemail Drop is a powerful automation feature that allows you to instantly leave a pre-recorded voicemail message when a call goes to voicemail — without wasting time manually recording it every time. This helps your team save time, maintain consistency, and connect with leads more efficiently. Let’s break down the workflow and logic behind how Voicemail Drop works. * * * ## Step-by-Step Workflow ### 1. Initiate First Call (0 seconds) The system first initiates an outbound call. This call is disconnected when the second call starts ringing and is used to keep the recipient’s line busy. It acts as a setup mechanism for the voicemail drop process. ### 2. Trigger Second Call (after 2 seconds) After about 2 seconds, the system automatically triggers a second call to the same number. Since the first call temporarily keeps the line busy, the second call goes directly to voicemail, allowing the system to drop the pre-recorded voicemail message instantly, without any delay or manual intervention. > Note:

  • The first call is not charged and is not visible in your call logs within the UI.
  • On the recipient’s end, they will typically see a missed call (from the first attempt) followed by a voicemail dropped call (the second call) — which is where your recorded message is successfully delivered.
